By the time I reached this final track, I was running on fragments of time.

The EP had been built slowly — in small windows between work, in late nights that stretched into early mornings. One or two hours at a time. Weekends spent pushing through exhaustion, chasing a feeling I couldn’t quite name yet, but knew I had to complete.

There was a date I had set from the beginning:
22 February 2026, 2:22am.

A quiet alignment.

It was the same date Miao Miao had passed the year before — 22 February 2025. And somehow, without forcing it, the number 222 kept threading itself through my life. Small moments. Repeating patterns that felt less like coincidence, and more like something gently guiding the process. Even the last apartment we stayed at, where Miao Miao passed — the unit number happens to be 2-2-2.

By the time I arrived at New Dawn, I didn’t have the luxury of overthinking. I needed to finish the track — but I didn’t want it to feel rushed or disconnected from everything that came before.

So I returned to what felt most natural.

Piano.
Soft wind textures.
Droning pads.
Angelic vocal layers.

Familiar sounds — but shaped with intention. I kept the tonal palette close to the previous tracks, so it would feel like the same world, just seen from a different light.

When it came to the melody, I asked myself a simple question:

What already exists… that hasn’t been heard yet?

I remembered a piano piece I had written after losing Gebu and Miao Miao — something deeply tied to grief, something I had never released. I returned to it, kept the chord progression, and gently reshaped the melody. Simplified it. Softened it.

And in doing so, it became something else.

What was once written to hold sorrow began to open into something lighter.
Not forgetting. Not erasing. But transforming.

A quiet shift from mourning… into meaning.

As the elements came together, the track began to feel like stepping out of a long tunnel — not abruptly, but gradually. The kind of light that doesn’t blind you, but welcomes you.

The kind that feels earned.

New Dawn became that moment.

Not just an ending, but a crossing.

Where the signal no longer needs to be sent outward.
Where the answer no longer feels distant.
Where something within has already realigned.

The final breath of the EP.

The moment after the noise, after the searching, after the remembering — when everything settles into a new form.

And in this light, the ashes remember what they were always meant to become.
